Two Houses, Two Projects, One Day

Brain cancer is...

Spiky Plant (aka Fire and Sticks)
Ceiling Fan

...completing a gardening project at our house down the hill while simultaneously installing a fan in our house up the hill.

How do we do this?  Throw money at it.  And get help.

We actually did the gardening project at our house down the hill and replaced our avocado tree with a "spiky" plant (which was given to us by Andi's mom, LuAnn).  The avocado tree was too tall for the space, ugly, and produced no fruit.  It had to go (here).

The cabin has no air conditioning and relies on breezes and a ceiling fan for cooling.  And a fan, spinning the other direction, circulates heat in the winter.  We have gone through several years with a broken fan.  So, at the same time that we planted Spiky Plant down the hill, we paid an electrician to install a new fan up the hill.  We (Andi) arranged for Matt the Deck Guy (here) to let in the electrician.  Doesn't the fan look great?

It's Miller Time!!

Today's Blooms

At the park we took a photo of resolve:
Meanwhile, Chris found a little hope.
She eloquently explained:

"Granted, what looks like a pretty dead bunch of plants may not initially scream 'Hope!' to anyone who passes by.  Yet that’s what is happening.

The sweet peas that were beautiful and delightfully fragrant are now in their last days.  What shows are tons of seed pods—some already twisted and sown—meaning the seeds for next year are preparing for the future. Definitely hope, given the necessary nurturing, that tomorrow will bring new opportunities."
