Four-Year Cancerversary

Brain cancer is...

...four years old today.

Darrell's diagnosis with Glioblastoma Multiforme was four years ago, 2/08/16.  What a journey this has been for Darrell and the people who love him.  (Right?)

Darrell was thrilled to wake up and celebrate today.

Brady and Linda came to play.  Just a few tears.  Lots of laughter as we relived all the happiness and goodness that have washed over Darrell and his team in these 1,460 days.

Here's the day in a few pictures:

Brady and Linda rolled into Fullerton

Lunch at Fratellino's.
Craig Park.  Yes, Linda and Brady were properly entranced by the birds.

Darrell communicates with cormorant.

Cheers at Stubriks

Fireside fun in our grandparent jammies
Four years ago in this blog (here), we were awed by the world's beauty.  We said, "We appreciated turning our faces just 90 degrees, away from all the IV lines, monitors, and flashing things to remember how big and gorgeous the world truly is."

It feels so long ago that Darrell sailed through surgery, radiation, and more than a year of chemo.  He continues to rock Optune.

And he still turns his face to the world and appreciates how big and gorgeous it truly is.

To Year Five.  To Darrell.
