Wow, Ricky Gervais's Afterlife series on Netflix.I just watched it back to back last night.
Very close to the bone. I was a little apprehensive on reading the description, whether my mood was in the mood, but went ahead anyway!
The character he plays, (ever so well) has such a miserable energy. I thought I would nearly have to turn it off on a couple of occasions as he was bringing me down. Not for everyone, I can imagine as the language is defo not for your mother to be listening to, for sure! But then he pulls you up and out of the desperation with his absolutely hilarious and very frank and real observations. The script is genius. There were so many little beautiful anecdotes in it. Well done Ricky!
I laughed and cried.
Accepting unhappiness is something so many people have to get over in this lifetime. Sometimes people dont know how to stop feeling sad. Well I have something to say to those people.
GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY AND CHANGE YOUR HABITS TO CHANGE YOUR PERSONALITY! There are plenty of people alot more worse off than you. Change everything.
Use the other hand to brush your teeth in the morning.
Cook something different for breakfast.
Shop in a different shop, better still, get a veg patch and start juicing to ground yourself.
Depression is self induced, we just need to change the tape, to empower ourselves.
Trust me, I go through this transformation everyday dealing with a deadly disease.
Nothing worthwhile in life comes easy.
