Brain cancer is...
...applying our word of the year to tomorrow's MRI.
We often play with our word of the year. We try it out, seeking to determine whether the word can shed light on our experiences. At the breakfast table today, Darrell shared his state of mind regarding tomorrow morning's MRI scan. He used our word "perspective" to great effect. To paraphrase:
"I'm a little anxious. I'll relax when I'm in the MRI tube. At least I know what to expect. It's not like a colonoscopy where they..."
(We'll let you finish the end of that sentence for yourselves.)
We both laughed out loud. Today's lesson: An unfamiliar experience can help you appreciate a familiar experience, even a tough one. Specifically, there's nothing like your first colonoscopy to help you appreciate your twenty-second brain scan.
Thanks for your good thoughts tomorrow morning. The scan is scheduled for 8:00.
