Hospitals are Theatrical.

The last few days - have given me a sense of patience I never knew existed in me. As I lay there in my new black velvet dressing gown with the hood up and mask over my mouth in case I caught anything (looking too cool lol earphones in listening to meditative talks but lowering down the volume when I thought there might be some juicy a & e action) I had the best bed in the house, right up at the reception desk where people came to complain and give the nurses their insurance details to get into the private area.

No curtains around me as it was flooded with people on beds needing all the doctors attention. It was like a scene from 'The greatest showman'! (if you have not seen that film, you must. Its such an amazing feel good flick. Its myself and Johnnys favourite film ever. Went to see it on my birthday. His choice.)

Micheal an x guard was giving it socks to the nurses that hed been waiting 3 hours. The lad next to me who said he doesnt drink initially to the doctor and then after a few good questions admitted he has six pints every night, but in the pub not at home, he never drinks at home. He wasnt that kind of drinker. He was chuckling with his croaky smokers laugh at Micheal telling the security man that hes an X guard, like that was going to get him anywhere. The nurse linked his arm and brough him back down to his bed. It was priceless. There was a german woman as I walked slowly down to the X-ray department taking in all the madness who was shouting something as her false teeth were clanging out of her mouth as she shouted and a woman fell off her bed who had a mad rash all over her. I helped her back in.

  • 10 hours in A & E with a frozen shoulder last Sunday. I was sent for a chest and shoulder X-ray. no result. sent home with nothing, no pain killers given.
  •  Told to come into St. Annes ward the next day and waited to see a doctor for 5 hours. I walked out in pain and annoyed. The doc who I was staring at for the 5 hours called the next day and I told him I went to my GP instead. He said he was so busy. He was on a computer. Fileing is more important than patients?
  • Thursday I was in the ward again this time with sore mouth of ulcers, and a tightening in my chest which lead to yet another X-ray of chest. If theres nothing wrong with my chest now, there will be in a few weeks with all this radiation. Had an echo and ecg on my heart. Unfortunately for me the guy was learning the new machine so I was in there for an hour and a half which should take 10 minutes. LOL typical. The joy. 8.45am-6.30pm sitting on a hard chair most of the time. I was shattered.

These trips to the hospital take a it toll on the body. I cannot help but question the hours and hours of waiting around and missing important things in life. Its awful and it just seems like everything is so badly organised. The doctor even had to ring my pharmacist to ask him what the dosage of my drugs were.  It wasnt even written in my file. Its just seems surreal sometimes. And scary.

So all of this makes me look inside to the healer that is inside of me. And thats why I am still going to survive this. I am learning. I have found out so much on this journey and I am not done at all. I have alot more to share and do. I am healing and I have the power and I am thankful for this life.

She - ra!
Love to all.
